  5. Paris, was inspired by the Impressionist
  6. painter Monet. He laid down the theory of
  7. Neo-Impressionism in his book De Delacroix au
  8. Neo-Impressionisme 1899. From the 1890s he
  9. developed a stronger and brighter palette. He
  10. and Matisse painted together in the south of
  11. France 1904-05.
